Oh rainy days....

Well today was supposed to be a running day but it turned into a raining day, a very "raining" day! Surprisingly ive been getting 100% of my required daily activity in though by jumping on a little trampoline, you know the kind you'd see in an 80's workout video or in Kelly Kaposki's bedroom. Hey it's getting the job done, especially on rainy days at the beginning of the year when my only other options are wet streets or a extremely crowded gym.  I'm still not quite getting the hang of this whole eating more thing but I'm trying.... It's hard to re-train your brain!

Breakfast
FF cottage cheese with fresh pineapple

Snack
Clementine orange

Lunch
Adult lunchable- turkey lunch meat with pepper jack cheese and crackers and a huge salad with ranch

Snack
Guppies [the school version of goldfish crackers]

Activity
Trampoline

Dinner
Honey Dijon chicken with peas, carrots, and potatoes [lots of carbs but I had to get those extra calories somehow].... I'm not done yet either. I still have 9 points left to eat.... Ugh this is harder than it seems.

Overall
I'm kinda disappointed that I skipped a run but I was easier to jump on the trampoline.  Maybe one day running will be worth making bigger sacrifices for, but not today.

Running on, Home cooked meals

Well I laid in bed for about an hour this morning trying to talk myself into going on my first ever 7 mile run.  I was so unmotivated! By the time I finally got out of bed and got moving I only had time to run 4.69 miles in order to still have time to get ready for church. Oh well 4.69 miles is better than the 0 I would've run had I not gotten up.

Activity:
4.69 mile run in 1 hour

Breakfast
PB&J Shakeology

Lunch
Homemade beef stroganoff by my mother-in-law and her amazing Italian salad [needless to say this is where the majority of my points went today, but it was so worth it!]

Dinner
Corn tortillas with left over salsa chicken and fruit on the side

Overall
It's been a pretty laid back day. Everything I did was simple and easy :)

Oh Happy Day!

So today was the dreaded weigh in day and surprise surprise I gained 1.8 pounds in the past 2 weeks. I was totally expecting it though cause 2 weeks ago I lost a lot (2.4) after having strep.  Anytime I have a big loss like that I gain most, if not all, of it back.  Therefore, I never considered that 2.4 a true loss, which means I actually lost .6 the past 2 weeks (yeah have fun trying to figure out my logic! Lol) Anyway I am seriously already sick of my places being crowded.  The gym was packed this morning, i had to wait in line to weigh-in at my Weight Watchers meeting, and even the running trail was crowded.  I really need to make a t-shirt that says "This is not my resolution, get out of my spot!" One place that was not crowded, the Chinese food buffet! Since my goal is to eat more food, I've deemed Saturday my "high point day", since ill have the rest of the week to burn it off.  With that in mind, here's my day....

Activity
30 minutes of TKB [my all time favorite type of workout] and then I ran 4 miles with my friend Sheila at a beautiful running trail in Grapevine

Lunch-Starbucks
Protein Bistro Box and a banana [super healthy and perfect after my run]

Snack
Pepper jack cheese and crackers

Dinner-Chinese Buffet
Well aren't they really all the same..... DELICIOUS!!!

Overall
Other Thant seeing a gain on the WW scale, I had a very productive and very ACTIVE day. I feel great but I am so tired!

So I have recently been informed that the reason I haven't been losing weight is probably because I'm not eating enough.  Which in the "diet" mindset I've had for 10+ years now makes no sense and is completely bogus! Everyone knows you have to eat less and move more to lose weight. Anyway, Ive bee doing Weight Watchers (again) for a year now and haven't even lost half a pound (unless you include the weight I lost when I had strep 2 weeks ago)! Weight Watchers follows a points system where you have a daily allowance of points (based on several factors) and in addition to that you have "extra" points that you can use weekly should you choose to do so.  Every food also has a points allowance an therefore, eating becomes a very twisted "banking" system of budgeting, spending, saving, your points.  Anyway everyone keeps telling me to eat more points since I workout so much.  I BARELY eat my daily points and never touch my weekly points, again going back to the whole "diet" mentality I've had for 10+ years.  I can't possibly eat more food to lose weight! Well since I've started running I decided I'd give it a shot and for the past two weeks I've been trying my hardest to eat more food.  And I've been doing it in a way so I don't feel like I'm gorging myself, where I add extra points on different days of the week according to some brilliantly laid out plan (the Wendie Plan).  Well today I was supposed to eat 10 extra points!!! So if my food choices today seem odd, it's because I was grasping for straws to try to eat more food....

Breakfast
Fat free cottage cheese with FRESH pineapple a.k.a the best fruit on the planet!

Snack
A cucumber (probably a whole one) with ranch.

Lunch
Realizing I had only eating 3 points at this point in the day I decided to eat the school lunch again] 3, yes 3, soft tacos with a side of spanish rice and a huge salad!

Activity
4 mile run! [I got new shoes that I was really excited to try out but they hurt my feet *sob* regardless, I ran my fastest pace since I started training for a half- marathon 10K.]

Dinner
[Here comes the grasping....] PB&J Shakeology, a little bit of lasagna, a WW brownie, and a WW Giant Latte ice cream bar.  I also had a few crackers and a slice of cheese while waiting for my dinner to prepare itself.

Overall
As much as it hurts I LOVE being sore because it reminds me (constantly) that I'm doing something right and I'm getting stronger every time I push myself to the limits!

Field Trips and School Food

Well today was the last day of the Christmas Break program at the school where I work, and we went rock climbing! <<< My absolute favorite "sport"!  Recently I started this new thing that Weight Watchers is doing calle Active Link that tracks your activity daily based on your movements.  So I was super stoked to see how much activity I'd get today considering I'd be doing one of my favorite activities. Well little did I know, according to my Active Link, rock climbing has very little movement.  Of course my arms and legs beg to differ! So once I got off work I had to go to the gym in ADDITION to the rock climbing to get to 100% (my daily activity goal) for the day. I was TICKED! And on top of that, I didn't have time to make my lunch so I had to have the school food! **GASP**  Anyway here's my day....

Breakfast
[My FAVORITE!] Strawberry Lite Greek yogurt with Special K Protein Plus cereal

Lunch
[Field trip food....] Turkey and cheese on wheat bread with Cheetos (ugh! I know... JUNK!), and animal crackers.

Snack
Fresh pineapple [the sweetest thing nature creates, and my FAVORITE fruit!] and 2 mandarin oranges.

Dinner
Shrimp tortellini and spinach [my husband's FAVORITE meal I make plus it's super healthy... win-win!] and a supper yummy chunky homemade peanut butter cookie

Activity
1 hour of rock climbing, 30 minutes on the elliptical, weights, and 30 minutes jumping on the trampoline

Overall
I'm pretty disappointed at how little my Activity Link said I moved today.  I feel like I moved a TON!  Oh well here goes the teeter-totter that is the delicate balance of eating and exercise.....

New Year, New Me

Well while everyone else is making New Year's resolutions, I thought I would stop and reflect on some past resolutions I made.  For example, becoming a runner back in 2010.  Overall I was pretty successful, until I injured my back 6 months into running 5K's.  I have also made resolutions to lose weight, and I can again say I was pretty successful overall.  But here I am again at the beginning of another year, wanting to set a goal, work toward something, and since I have recently started running again, I think my goals will be centered on that.  I really like the fact that I started working toward this goal weeks ago, so it seems less daunting now, but I hope to eventually run a half-marathon this year.  For someone who HATES running, such as myself, this seems a little crazy, but anyone who knows me well, knows I am easily persuaded to try anything!  Another goal I have is to break through this 2 year weight loss plateau.  It's so frustrating to work my butt off to eat right and work out religiously and not see the scale move for 2 YEARS!!!!  It's time for a change, a new me!

Rabbit Food

Well today marks the day I married my best friend! We've been married 2 years now (yes we got married on 10.10.10) but since we've known each other for 12 years, all those years run together, especially knowing we'll be together forever. I can't imagine loving anyone else the way I love him.

To prepare for our anniversary dinner, I ate pretty light today. This wasn't hard for me because, aside from fish, I could EASILY be a vegetarian!

Breakfast-breakfast sandwich
Double fiber English muffin with turkey sausage, egg whites, spinach, onions, and pepperjack cheese.

Lunch
Salad.... A LOT of salad! I brought a small Greek salad to work (mixed greens with tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, feta, and Greek dressing) and the cook at school brought me more salad (cause she loves me)! It was simply lettuce with shredded cheese and ranch, but boy was it good! I had strawberries and grapes too. Good ol rabbit food!

Exercise
Even though I am crazy sore from my workouts this week and my stomach has been gurgling all day (probably from all the extra fiber ;)) I ran 1.22 miles in 15 minutes outside before getting ready for dinner.

Snack
Frozen whole wheat waffle with peanut butter and a banana. (Hey it's not an apple right?! I was hoping the banana would help with my soreness)

Dinner- Texas de Brazil
[We love going to this restaurant for our anniversary. My husband LOVES the all you can eat meat parade and I, well I LOVE the salad bar! I mean the salad bar is bigger than my living room!]
Salad bar with everything you could possibly imagine. Plus lobster bisque soup and way too much bread but hey it's my anniversary right?!

Sweet treat
Bananas Foster pie... Shared with my hubby of course ;)

Overall
I'm probably protein deficient after today but what can I say, i love rabbit food!!!! Now if only this soreness and tummy gurgling would go away....
