Mission Accomplished!

Whew, what a long 3-day weekend! I love being able to take random Mondays off throughout the year to do fun things with friends but sometimes that can put a kink in "the plan" when it comes to working out and eating right. I made a decision on Saturday morning (the beginning of my workout week) that I was not going to go crazy this weekend! Having fun and fellow shipping often centers around food but it doesn't need to focus in eating and I didn't let it! So here's a re-cap of my weekend, take notes ;) ....

Saturday 10.6.12
[I don't eat or drink anything before my weigh in, at 10:30, on Saturday mornings and today was no exception. I did however go with my husband to take a licensing test instead of my normal hour of TKB. He passed by the way!]
Lunch- Waffle Way
Half a veggie and cheese omelet with grits and rye bread on the side.
Snack
An apple with peanut butter
Dinner- Jake's Burgers
Big juicy turkey burger with Swiss. (And 3 onion rings cause I just couldn't resist!)
Sweet treat- Schakolad gourmet chocolates
My mom had a groupon so she took me and my bestie to indulge in gourmet chocolates! These may last me a while.... :) but the chocolate dipped cheesecake, I snacked in that all weekend. (If you spread out the calories there aren't as many if the right?!)
Exercise
Ran 1.22 miles in 14 minutes outside (cause the weather was AMAZING!!!)

Overall
I had a fun night with my mom and bestie! And while we ate dinner and got chocolate, spending much needed time together was what I'll remember most from that night.

Sunday 10.7.12
Exercise-before breakfast!
Ran 1 mile in 13 minutes with my husband and our 2 big dogs. I thought it'd be faster because of the dogs but hahaha no....
Breakfast
Hard boiled egg, rye bread (I LOVE rye bread!), and a turkey sausage patty.
Lunch-at the in-laws
Pot roast with mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, and corn. And a milk chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert. [My mother-in-law is a good southern cook so I always try to reign it in on Sundays but especially today since I knew I'd be eating out for dinner. So even though it was a lot of food, I stuck with small portions and more carrots/green beans than potatoes, my weakness.]
Dinner-Mi Cocina
[A friend of mine flew in from out of town and its our tradition to go to Mi Cocina when she's here. She got a suite for our group of friends to enjoy for the night.... Oh what a night it was!]
I had a soft chicken taco with rice and beans (kids meal portions) and a very delicious "dilemma" to drink ;)

Overall
We had a BLAST hanging out tonight doing karaoke, running through the hotel in our socks, and just talking til the wee hours of the morning. Again we ate but we'll remember the events not the food for years to come.

Monday 10.8.12
[I am SO glad I took today off work! Needless to say after staying up til 5:30am talking, we didn't get much sleep and tried to sleep in a little so again no breakfast this morning.]
Lunch-Ihop
Egg beaters with shredded cheese and salsa, turkey sausage link, and half a whole wheat waffle topped with blueberries. (I LOVE breakfast food and could easily eat it for every meal!)
Snack
Apple with peanut butter
Exercise
Ran 1.15 miles in 13 minutes outside. (LOVE fall weather and mid-afternoon runs outside!)
Dinner
Black bean quesadilla:: wheat tortilla topped with black bean burger patty, pepperjack cheese, and fruit salsa with sour cream to dip. Quick easy meal when you're EXHAUSTED!!!
Sweet treat
One of my chocolates... Dark chocolate and espresso beans :)

Overall
This was a wonderful 3- day weekend and even though I ate out ALOT more than I ever do, I managed to stick with small portions and take food home whenever possible. I also am very proud than I ran everyday, something I don't necessarily like doing. Even though it was a crazy (fun, busy, exciting) weekend, I myself did not go crazy... Mission accomplished! Looking forward to getting back into my normal routine tomorrow!
